The purpose of the course is to cultivate and develop strong, resilient school leaders by providing Departmental Heads (DHs) with a conceptual understanding of their professional duties as institutional managers. This training prepares DHs, who are key drivers within the School Management Team (SMT), to assist the Principal in managing the quality of teaching and learning within their respective departments. 

The topics are:

1. The role of the Departmental Head in the School Management Team (SMT).

2. People Management and Performance Management.

3. Legislative Framework relevant to Departmental Heads.

4. Curriculum Management.

5. Key Management Principles
