2025_IE_Positive Behaviour Seminar
Background: The WCED Positive Behaviour Programme is a multi-pronged strategy to promote positive and restorative behaviour approaches by creating caring school cultures through educator capacity building, learner and parent intervention programmes as well as awareness programmes to highlight the programme efforts.
The new approach to positive behavioural support represents a shift from a focus on deficit and control, towards a developmental and restorative approach. This will enable learners to progress towards responsibility, relationship building and a greater sense of well-being. This approach is also embodied in the South African Constitution, the South African Schools Act and the specific outcomes of the National Curriculum Statement which give priority to the concept of responsibility.
This seminar has been designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills and practical strategies to meet the differing and often challenging behavioural situations you find in your classroom.
