About this Course

Course Objectives:

This course is for: Grade R teachers who has not been CAPS trained, e.g. Novice Grade R teachers
An overview of the Grade R CAPS Curriculum

Learning Objectives:

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the rationale for Grade R: Recognize the purpose and significance of Grade R in the education system.

2. Familiarize themselves with key policies: Understand the policies governing Grade R, including their impact on teaching and learning.

3. Identify key features of CAPS: Comprehend the essential elements of the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) relevant to Grade R.

4. Develop a Daily Programme: Design and implement a daily programme that aligns with the requirements of Grade R.

5. Assess learner progress: Understand the principles and practices of assessment in Grade R, including the use of various assessment tools.

6. Evaluate school readiness: Assess the readiness of learners for formal schooling, including their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

7. Select and evaluate Learner Teacher Support Material (LTSM): Critically evaluate and select LTSM that supports the curriculum and promotes effective teaching and learning.

 

Course Structure: 5 days of compulsory attendance, 10 Modules, including a Pre and a Post Test

Delivery details: This course will be a contact course (face-face) on the CTLI premises.

Certification: Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion after the successful completion of the course
